As early as the late 1960s concentrated extract of Milk Thistle was evaluated in clinical trials in Europe to support healthy liver function. This special, concentrated extract contains about 70 to 80% of flavanolignans that are collectively known as silymarin. The main flavanolignans are silybin, silychristin and silydianin.
