Licorice root has been used for thousands of years in Eastern medicine for its soothing and decongestant properties to modern uses for stress management. Many licorice extracts contain compounds that can have a “psuedoaldonsteronism effect” which can increase blood pressure, namely glycerrhizinic and glycerrhetinic acids. DGL contains deglycyrrhizinated licorice, a licorice extract that does not contain these compounds and is safe for those who are concerned about these side effects.
AOR DGL is a root extract from India in a 6:1 water distillation to remove glycyrrhizin. By delivering the extract in a chewable tablet active components can get to work protecting and soothing the digestive tract from end to end. It helps reduce inflammation and supports the gastrointestinal mucosa.
AOR Advantage
AOR’s DGL chewable tablets ensure that salivary enzymes can break down components of the licorice extract that has been shown to provide more direct relief for those suffering from abdominal pain and burning. AOR is in compliance with Health Canada’s definition of deglycyrrhizinated extracts that has been defined as: not exceeding more than “3% of the original quantity of glycyrrhizic acid found in the source material.”
